From the Spanish Enlistment papers - Extracted by Virginia Olmstead publised in the National Genealogical Quarterly 1979-1980, Alejandro Ortiz, son of Juan Estevan Ortiz and Maria Luisa Yturrieta of Santa Fe. He was 5"1", 21, dark eyes, red hair and eyebrows, straight nose, thin beard, scar on left cheek, moles on left side of face above beard and scar on right check enlisted 5-28-1781, signed by mark.

Note: Killed by Apaches on 9 Oct 1789.
