Noted events in his life were:
• Immigration. 417 Sergeant Thomas Tibbals came to America in 1635 on the "True-love." He was one of the first settlers of Milford, Conn. He served in the Pequot War, and in 1671 was granted 50 acres for his military services. His first wife was named Mary; she d. June, 1644, and he married a second wife, name unknown. He d. 1703, and his will was proved June 1 of that year. By his first wife there were two children, Mary and Samuel; by his second wife six children, John, Thomas, Mary (or Mercy), Hannah, who m. Eliakim Cooley, Josiah and Sarah.

Land Records: "Thomas Tibbals had been engaged in the Pequot war, and in the pursuit of the remnant of the tribe, that fled to Fairfield swamps the year previous, had seen the river, and for his services as guide the next spring, the Colonists granted him land, and in the deed made his "usefulness" the consideration."
