  • Born: Abt 1771, Nueva España 441

bullet  General Notes:

The name Becerra is no where to be found in New Mexico before the marriage of Tomás Antonio Becerra married Marría de la Luz Archuleta in Taos on 8 Aug 1815. The marriage record names Tomas Antonio Becerra as the son of Don Antonio Becerra and Doña Nicolasa Obando. The only people in New Mexico/Mexico I could locate with these names and married to each other are Antonio Becerra and Nicolasa Obando who given as the parents of Ygnacio baptized in Santiago, Nopalucán, Puebla in 1794; Cayetano, baptized in Acatzingo, Pueblo in 1782; Gabriel, baptized in 1778 in Santiago, Nopalucán, Puebla; José Augustín baptized in 1774 in Santiago, Nopalucán, Puebla. New Mexico Cesuses give the age of Tomás Becerra the age of 62 in 1833 which would give him a birth date of about 1771, which would fit with the children of Antonio and Nicolasa. I have yet to find a baptismal record for Tomás Becerra, so for now this is just a speculation that the parents named in Tomás's marriage record, Don Antonio Becerra and Doña Nicolasa Obando are the same Antonio Becerra and Nicolasa Obando of Puebla.
