• Background Information: 252 Domingo Luján was twenty-six and married in 1681. He was described as a native of New Mexico, of good stature, swarthy, with black hair and a thick beard. He had been stationed outside New Mexico proper, perhaps at Guadalupe del Paso, when the Rebellion came; hence he was not among the refugees of 1680. Apparently he is the man of this name who, against strict orders, gave some gunpowder to a Cochití [half-]brother of his during the Otermín Campaign in 1681, as well as the soldier of this name who was killed in 1693 when chasing a cow on horseback. Meanwhile, between 1680 and 1692, his wife and children had been held captives in the Pueblos. His Cochití connections make hims a possible son of Francisco Luján.
