Domingo Luján was twenty-six and married in 1681. He was described as a native of New Mexico, of good stature, swarthy, with black hair and a thick beard. He had been stationed outside New Mexico proper, perhaps at Guadalupe del Paso, when the Rebellion came; hence he was not among the refugees of 1680. Apparently he is the man of this name who, against strict orders, gave some gunpowder to a Cochití [half-]brother of his during the Otermín Campaign in 1681, as well as the soldier of this name who was killed in 1693 when chasing a cow on horseback. Meanwhile, between 1680 and 1692, his wife and children had been held captives in the Pueblos. His Cochití connections make hims a possible son of Francisco Luján.

Juan married Juana Domínguez, daughter of Tomé Domínguez de Mendoza and Ana Velázquez. (Juana Domínguez was born in 1656 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España and died in 1717 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)

Juan had a relationship with Ana María Herrera, daughter of Juan de Herrera and Ana López del Castillo. (Ana María Herrera was born in 1654.)
