Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, Armengol III conde de Urgell "The Gesta Comitum Barcinonensium records that "Ermengaudus filius eius…dictus de Barbastre" succeeded "Ermengaudus" in 1038, and died in 1065 [Gesta Comitum Barcinonensium 12, RHGF XI, p. 290]." Armengol de Urgell married, as his first wife Adelaida de Besalú, daughter of Guillem I code de Besalú y Ripoll and his wife Adelaide, who was the mother Armengol IV de Urgel "el de Gerp: and Isabel de Urgell. His second wife was Clemence de Bigorre, daughter of Bernard comte de Bigorre, and she was the mother of his other children.
Armengol married Adelaida de Besalú, daughter of Guillem II "Trunus" de Besalú and Estefanía.
