Vratislav II King of Bohemia

~ Weis's Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700, 8th Edition, 244:7, Vratislav II, King of Bohemia, and great, great grandson of Boleslaw I, "the Cruel," who murdered his brother, Duke Václav at the instigation of their mother Drahomira, was married to, as his second wife, Adelaide of Hungrey, daughter of Endre, King of Hungary and Anastasia (Agmunda), daughter of Iaroslav I and Ingigerd. Vratislav and Adelaide were the parents Judith, Princess of Bohemia. ¹⁶⁰

Vratislav of Bohemia was the son of Bretislav, Duke of Bohemia and his wife Judith von Schweinfurt. As his first wife, he married a woman named Maria. His second wife was Adelaide of Hungary, daughter of Andras I, King of Hungary and his second wife Anatasia Iaroslavan of Kiev. His third wife was Swietoslawa of Poland, daughter of Kazimierz I Karol.

The Chronica Boemorum names (in order) "Spitignev, Wratislaw, Conradus, Iaromir, Otto" as the five sons of "Bracizlaus [et] Iuditha" [Cosmæ Pragensis Chronica Boemorum II.1, MGH SS IX, p. 67]. Vratislav was declared King of Bohemia at Prague 15 Jun 1085 or 1086. The Annales Gradicenses record that "rex Wratislaus factus est" in 1086 and that in 1087 "dux Boemie…Wratislaus" was anointed as king and "uxor eius Zuslava" as queen [Annales Gradicenses 1086 and 1087, MGH SS XVII, p. 648]. The Annales Gradicenses record the death in 1093 "Wratizlaus rex" and his succession by "Chonradus" [Annales Gradicenses 1093, MGH SS XVII, p. 648].

Vratislav married Adelaide of Hungary, daughter of Andros King of Hungary and Anastasia Iaroslavna, in 1057.¹⁶⁰ (Adelaide of Hungary died on 27 Jan 1062 in Bohemia ^160,1018.)
