Guillaume was the son of Theoderic (I) Comte d'Autun & his wife Aldana. The Vita S. Willelmi records that "beatus Willelmus" was born during the reign of King Pepin to "consule Theoderico …mater …comitissa …Aldana" [379].

Aldana married Theuderic comté d’Autun et Toulouse. (Theuderic comté d’Autun et Toulouse was born about 730 in France and died in 885 in France.)
