1346 Richard de la Bere held a knight's fee in Burleton, which Robert de la Bere once held (Feud Aids II, 391,393) This Richard married Sibel, daughter of William de Chabbenor of Chadnor Hfs CPIII,149, This Richard was MP for Hds in 1353,1354, 1357-8, 1360 and 1369.

I finally got a copy of the Moriarty article, ?The Family of de la Bere,? published in The Genealogists? Magazine, Vol.10, No. 11, pages 412-415. In the article, Moriarty provides the following descent for the de la Bere family:

1. Roger de Berkeley=

2. Isabel de Berkeley= (1) Thomas de Rocheford, (2) William de Walerond

3. Alice de Rocheford= (1) Andrew de la Bere, (2) Alan de Plugenet

4. Richard de la Bere=

5. Robert de la Bere=

6. Richard de la Bere=Sibel de Chabboner

7. John de la Bere=

8. Kinnard de la Bere=

9. Sir Richard de la Bere=Elizabeth

Moriarty further identifies the following descent to Sibel de Chabboner:

1. William de Chabboner=

2. Thomas de Chabboner=Sibel

3. William de Chabboner=

4. Sibel de Chabboner=Richard de la Bere

Moriarty writes the following:

Sir Richard [#9 above], son of Kinnard, succeeded before 1412, and in that year John de Baskerville impleaded Walter Ismanes, Bailiff of Richard son of Kinnard de la Bere, for illegal distraint and damages in Eardisley. The defendant stated that Ingenard de Baskerville gave Chadnor to William de Chabbenor for life, remainder to Thomas his son and his wife Sibel and their heirs of their bodies, and Richard de la Bere was their heir-at-law. (In the return of 1242-3 William de Chabbenor held 3 hides in Chadnor by sergentry of Ralf de Toeni of the old feoffment (Bk. of Fees, vol. II, p.804) and in 1316 Thomas de Chabbenor held Chadnor (Feud. Aids, Vol.II, p.387).) From Thomas it descended to his son William, and from William to his daughter Sibel wife of Richard de la Bere, and from Sibel to her son John, and from John to his son Kinnard, and from Kinnard to his son Richard (De Banco R. East. 13 Hen. IV, m. 333; The Genealogist, N.S., vol. XVI, p. 44).

In a footnote, Moriarty writes further:

In 1413 John Mulleward impleaded Richard de la Bere for illegal distraint in Eardesley. Richard stated that Richard de Baskerville once held the park at Eardesley, together with other lands of Ingenard de Baskerville by service of ½ k.f. and an annual rent of L4, and Ingenard gave Chadnor to William de Chabbenor for life, remainder to his son Thomas and Sibel his wife and the heirs of their bodies. The defendant claimed as heir-in-law
