• Background Information. 141 William Fitz Martin, son and heir of Sir William, in 1209 had letters of protection while staying in Wales. He held Blagdon, Dartington, and other manors in 1212. He married Avice de Toriton, apparently sister of Fulk de Breauté. He died before 15 February 1215/6, when the custody of his lands and heir was granted to Fulk de Breauté. His widow Avice (in one place called Alice) had dower allowed her in April 1216. She married Nicholas de Bolewill, and was apparently living in 1246.
