Sir Philip de Orreby's wife, and mother of his son also named Philip is given as Alice de Bamville in the Visitation Cheshire. His father is given as Herbert de Orreby, son of Alardus.

~The Visitation of Lancashire has in a footnote on page 126 ". . . Philip de Orreby, justice of Chester who paid five hundred marcs for this privilege, on the death of their father Thurstan, abt 1218 or 1219 (3 Henry III)." 680

In the publication, Lancashire Inquests, Extents, and Feudal Aids, page 147 contained in a footnote, it is stated "On July 16 1219, justiciar of Chester, fined by 50 marks to have the wardship and marriage of Robert, son of Thurstan Banastre, who attained his majority circa 1239. Robert Banastre and John, his heir, both died before 27 Feb 1241 when the . . ." 764

Philip de Orreby, of Alvanley, justiciary of Cheshire, 1209 to 1228, married Alice Banville, and had two sons:
Phillip, of Alvanley, married Lucy, daughter and heir of Roger de Montalt, and had an only daughter and heiress, Agnes, wife of Walkelynde Ardern
Fulke, justice of Chester in 44 Henry III, married to the daughter of Strange, Lord of Dalby, and had a daughter named Alicia who married Peter Corbet, of Leighton. He also had a son, Sir John de Orreby wh married Isabella, younger sister and co-heiress of Robert, Lord de Tatteshall, and 2ndly, Jane by whom he left a son named after his father.
