George Farr bequeathed to "my son John" a lot of ground in Lynn and two acres at Rumney marsh; to "my sons Lazerous and Bengamin ... my house and all theland about it" along with another lot of land; to "my wife" her thirdsduring her widowhood; to "my son Joseph" fifty shillings when he comes ofage; to "my four daughters namely Mary, Martha, Elizebeth and Sarah"fifty shillings apiece, Mary and Martha two years after testator's decease and Elizabeth and Sarah four years after [EQC 3:18-19; EPR1:402-03]. The inventory of the estate of George Farr, deceased, taken 24 November 1662, totalled ?109 8s., including ?57 in real estate: "onedwelling house and some outhousing with the lot it stands upon," ?20;"eight acres of upland," ?16; "eight acres more of upland," ?16; and "twoacres of salt marsh in Rumley Marsh."
• Background Information. 446 At tue age of sixty-three, 15 Apr 1657, George was deposed, giving a likely birth date of about 1594. He died at Lynn, Massachusets on 27 Nov 1672. George married, by 1633, Elizabeth Stowers, the daughter of Nicholas Stowers. Elizabeth died after 27 Nov 1672. Their children were:

• Background Information. 144 George Farr, the father of Mary Farr, is named in the letter of instructions sent from the company in London to the officials at Salem, as a shipwright sent out by them in that business in 1629. He appears, however, to have given up shipbuilding very early, and to have engaged as a land owner in farming in Lynn, near the place where Matthias Farnsworth had land.
George had several children who survived him, one of whom married Nicholas Hutchins, then of Lynn, who, moved to Groton soon after the earliest settlement there. Nicholas Hutchins purchased land adjoining to that owned by Matthias Farnsworth, and lived upon it.
