Juan Manuel Martín, 20 and a few months, español, single, legitimate so of late militia lieutenant, Pedro Martín, and María Manuela Cisneros. Juana Catalina Váldez, 18, epañola, single, legitimate daughter of José Ysidoro Váldez and María Loreta Gómez, citizens of the Abiquiú jurisdiction. Juan Manuel stated that he was related to Juana Catalina in the fourth degree of consanguinity on a traverse line and that they were related to everyone in the area. They had always preserved their families' honor. His intended was poor, and he could support her properly. He signed his petition. Juana Catalina explained that her movtives for seeking a dispensation were angusti loci and poverty. She said she had her parents' permission to marry.

Father de la Prada forwarded the proceeding to Durango on 10 Feb 1806. On 31 Dec 1806, Vicar General Millán Rodríguez recommended a dispensation. Bishop Olivares y Bentio's apparent approval is missing from the file.

1. In Abiquiú, on 30 Jan 1786, Father González baptized Juan Manuel, born on 28 Jan 1786, the legitimate son of Pedro Martín and María Manuela Cisneros. His godparents were Gerardo Cisneros and Francisca Martín. All citizens of Abiquiú.

2. Ina Abiquiú, on 8 Dec 1788, Father Francisco Martín Bueno baptized Juana Catalina, born on 5 Dec 1788, the legitimate daughter of José Ysidoro Váldez and María Loreta Gómez, espanoles, and citizens of that jurisdiction. Her godparents were Faustín Martín and María Manuela Váldez

3. On 9 Feb 1806, Father de la Prada noted that Juana Catalina Váldez's parents, José Ysidoro Váldez and María Loreta Gómez, had appeared before him and gave their permission for their daughter to marry.

4. On 9 Feb 1806, Father de la Prada noted that María Manuela Cisneros, mother of Juan Manuel Martín, left Abiquiú for Santa Fé on 26 Oct 1805 because she had married Miguel Tenorio, a presidial soldier. She granted permission for her son, Juan Manuel Martín, to marry Juana Catalina Váldez. Her son did not want to move and leave his relatives. He had been born and raised and found his bride in Abiquiú. He had a home, land and animals there, which he inherited from his late father, Oedro Martín. He was going to take up residence in the home of his grandmother, Antonial Vallejo and his uncle, Mariano Martím, to whom he owed his Christian education.

5. A certification prepared by Father Hozio of the Santa Fé presidio stated that María Manuela Cisneros, morther of Juan Antonio Martín, wife of Miguel Tenorio, granted her permission for her son, Juan Manuel Martín to marry Juana Catalina Valdez. Father Hozio and Miguel Tenorio signed the statement.
