Sir Geoffrey de Hatton, knight, lord of Hatton by Daresbury, son and heir of Sir Adam de Hatton and Avice de Ville. Sir Adam married Matilda, daughter of Sir Edwin de Herthull, knight. Sir Geoffry de Hatton was living during the reign of Stephen and Henry II. The children of Sir Geoffry and Matild, according to Ormerod, were: Ralph de Hatton, son and heir; and Roger de Hatton, who married Elizabeth, daughter to Sir Normanville.
