It is likely that Juan, the oldest son of Juan Carrasco de Salas Pareja, married Juana Vásquez de Mercado Sotomayor before their daughter María de Salas Sotomayor was born. María was baptized at the Sagrario Cathedral on 15 Feb 1619. Juan Carrasco and Juana Vásquez de Mercado Sotomayor had at least one more child, Beatriz, who was baptized on 24 Feb 1622 in Mexico City. Juana died sometime before 17 May 1626 when banns of marriage were announced for "widower," Juan Carrasco de Salas and Luisa de Luna y Castro.
