• Information: 248 Juan Manuel Chirinos was a notary of Santa Fé or a witness in Santa Cruz de la Cañada for Diligencia Matrimonials. In 1705, when his age is given as 40 and in 1724 when is age is givem his age as 60. His age was given as 29 on 8 Jul 1696 for and 44 on 9 Jan 1710 for his own Diligencia Matrimonials.
• Background Information: 252 Juan Manuel Martínez de Cervantes was a twenty-seven years old, native of Mexico City, who came with the colonists of 1693. He is listed as having a dark, round face, large eyes and a broad nose. He came with his wife, Catalina de los Ángeles, twenty-four year old daughter of Francisco Callacos. She too was a native of Mexico City, with a dark aquiline face, large eyes and forehead. Along with them came a twenty-six year old servant named Cecili de la Cruz
Catalina died on the journey during childbirth at the post of Ojo Caliente, Hacienda of Tabalopa and Paso del Norte, Apr 1694. Juan Manuel reached Santa Fé with the other colonists, and like many, he settled in Santa Cruz de la Cañada. There he married María de Guadalupe Navarro, the sixteen year old daughter of Antonio Navarro and Antonia González, both deceased. Juan Manuel named his parents a Juan Martínez de Cervantes and María Antonia Chirinos. He gave his own name as "Chirinos."
Juan Manuel had two daughters with María Navarro, Lucía and María de Guadalupe. Lucía married Juan Cayetano Lobato of Santa Fé, and María de Guadalupe married José Trujillo of Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Chirinos is the name his two daughters used when they were married.
Juan Manuel married a third time to Juana Montoya, the widow of Francisco Palomino Rendón.
