• Background Information. 996 A fine was levied between Bartholomew and his wife Isabella and Richard de Berking, tenant of 80 of land in the Manor Emneth, as dowry of Isabella which she had received from her former husband. He also witnessed his relative Stephen de Sackville's grant to the Prior of Mendham, which had be founded by William de Huntingfield. By Isabella, he left issue two son, William de Glanville and Geoffrey de Glanville.
