Sir Josce de Dinham Knight

Sir Josce de Dinham, of Hartland, Buckland Denham, and Cardinham, son and heir, aged 24 and more, or 26 and more, at his father's death. The King took his homage, and he had livery of his father's lands, 2 April 1299, He was summoned for Military Service in 1300 and 12 March 1300/1 writs directed Joceo le Dynham or Dyneham. He was with the King in Scotland in 1300.

Sir Josce de Dinham married, before 23 April 1292, Margaret, daughter and heir of Sir Richard de Hydon, of Clayhidon and Hemyock, Devon. He died 30 March 1300/1. His widow's dower was ordered to be assigned, 9 July, and the knights' fees and advowsons of her dower, 30 September 1301. She married, 2^ndly, without royal lic., before 24 January 1308/9 (when her lands were on that account ordered to be taken into the King's hand), as 2^nd wife, Sir Gilbert de Knoville, of Batteshorne, Devon, Puckington, Somerset, &c., who died 20 January 1313/4. She married, 3^rdly, without royal lic., before 24 September 1324 (when their lands were restored to them,, having on that account been taken into the King's hand), Sir Piers d'Uvedale, of Titsey, Surrey, Tacolneston, Norfolk, and Litlington, co. Cambridge who was born 9 August. 1290, at Saxilby, co. Lincoln, and bap. there, and died s.p. shortly before 2 May 1336, aged 45, She, who founded in 1338 a chantry in the chapel of Hemyock, died 15 May 1357, and was buried in the said chapel.

Oliver Dinant died the in 1300 "and was succeeded by his son Josce Dinant, second Baron, who married Margaret, daughter and heiress of Richard Hydon and by her had two sons, John and Oliver. John succeeded his father as third Baron, 29 Edward I, 1301, being an infant."

Joyce de Dinham (died 1301) married, before April 1292, Margaret de Hydon who brought to the Dinhams the manors of Clayhidon and Hemyock in Devon. Joyce de Dinham died aged only 28 and his widow remarried, first to Sir Gilbert de Knoville, who died before 1313 (AR/1/876), and then to Peter de Uvedale (AR/1/548).

Josce married Margaret de Hydon, daughter of Sir Richard de Hydon Knight and Isabel de Fissacre ¹⁴¹.^,1283 (Margaret de Hydon was born in Clayhidon, Wllington, Devonshire, England, died on 15 May 1357 in Hemyockk, Wllington, Devonshire, England ¹⁴¹ and was buried in Chapel of Hemyockk, Wllington, Devonshire, England ¹⁴¹.)
