John de Mohun, son and heir, was a minor at his grandfather's death. His wardship and marriage were granted to Queen Eleanor. He had writ of livery, after doing homage, October 1269. In 1277 he was summoned for military service against Llewelyn, attended musters at Worcester and Carmarthen, and served under the Earl of Lancaster in West Wales. He married Eleanor, daughter of Sir Reynold Fitz Piers. He died 11 June 1279. His widow, who had dower under writ of 18 Oct 1279, married, 2ndly, William Martin (Lord Martin), and was living January 1282/3.

John married Eleanor Fitz Piers, daughter of Sir Reginald Fitz Piers Lord of Brecknock and Joan de Vivonia.141 (Eleanor Fitz Piers was born about 1252 in Blaen Llyfni, Brecknockshire, Wales and died before 8 Oct 1324.)
