Sir Robert de Ros, of Belvoir, in Aug 1258, was the chief commissioner in Hereford. In that year, as "Robert de Ros of Belvoir," he was summoned for service in Scotland and against the Welsh. He was summoned again in Mar 1260 and Oct 1261, to London, with all his service due, and in Oct 1263 to Windsor, with the horses and arms, which he brought to London, to treat of matters touching the realm. In 1261, the Sheriff of Lincs. Was notified that Robert de Ros of Belvoir was pardoned for tourneying at Pontefract, against the King's order. He sided with Simon de Montfort in Mar 1263/4, and was holding Northampton, under the younger Simon, when the King took it in April.

On 24 Dec, he was summoned as Robert de Ros to (de Montfort's) to Parliament in London. On 18 May 1265, Prince Edward escaped from his custody at Hereford. Robert surrendered Gloucester Castle to the Prince, 29 Jun 1265. On 14 Aug, ten days after the battle of Evesham, at the Prince's instance, Robert received a full pardon. He was a commissioner in the North, Sep. 1268, and for the Aid granted to the King, he was pardoned £200 of the relief due from him as heir to his father. In Nov 1276, he was one of the magnates, who, in Council at Westminster, gave judgement against Llewelyn, and he was summoned for the consequent campaign. He had protection in Apr. 1266, on going to the shire of St. Edmund at Pontigny. He was summoned, 28 Jun 1283, to the Assembly at Shrewsbury, as was his son William de Ros.

Robert de Ros married sometime between 5 June 1243 and 17 May 1244, Isabella, daughter of William d'Aubigny, lord of Belvoir. He died 17 May 1285, and was buried at Kirkham. Robert de Ros's bowels were buried at Belvoir, his heart at Croxton Abbey. Isabella died 15 Jun 1301 and was buried at Newstead, near Stamford. Besides their eldest son, William, they had younger sons Robert, John and Nicholas. Their daughters were Isabella, who married Water de Fauconberge, 2^nd Lor Fauconberge; and Mary, who married as his 3^rd wife, William, 1^st Lord of Broase.

Robert married Isabel d’Aubigny, daughter of Guillaume d’Aubigny Lord of Belvoir and Unknown. ¹⁴¹ (Isabel d’Aubigny was born about 1232 in Belvoir Castle, Belvoir, Leicestershire, England, died on 15 Jun 1301 and was buried in Newstead, near Stamford, , England.)
