Rudolph le Blount, born say 997, was Count of Guines, grandson of Sigefred, the Dane, first Count, who was grandson of Harold V, King of Denmark [Burke's Commoners, 1:355] . He married Rosetta, said by Croke to be a daughter of Hugh, second Count of St. Pol.

Sir Robert le Blount, born say 1029, was the first Baron Ixworth in Suffolk. He married Gundred, who was said to be a daughter of sister of Henry, who was erroneously identified as Earl Ferrers.

Gilbert le Blount, born say 1055, was second Baron Ixworth. He married Alice de Colekirke.

William le Blount, third Baron Ixworth. born say 1087. He married Sarah de Munchesne, daughter of Hubert de Munchesne.

Blound, lord of Guines, in France, had three sons, who came into England with the Conqueror. Once returned into Frace again ; the other two, Sir Robert and Sir William, remained. Sir Robert at the time of the General Survey, possessed several lordships in the county of Suffolk, of which Ixworth or Ikesworth, was the chief of his barony. Sir William had serveral lordships in Linconshire : but Sir Robert was the father of Gilbert, who by Alice de Colkirke, his wife, a issue, William baron of Ixworth, who by Sarah de Montchensi, his wife, was father of another Gilbert, who by Agnes de Lisle, had two sons, William and Stephen. William the oldest, married Cicely de Vere, and had issue of another William, and two daughters; which William being amongst the rebel barons, temp. Henry III and standard bearer in their army, under Simon Monfort, earl of Leicester, was slain with him at the battle of Lewes, leaving his two sisters; Agnes, Wife of Sir William de Criketot; and Rohese, wife of Robert de Valoines, his heirs.
