Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 141 Roger de Swynnerton, son and heir, had a grant of free warren, a market and a fair in his demesne lands of Swinnerton in 1305/06. On 16 Oct 1313, he was granted a pardon for his part in the execution of Gavaston. In 1316, he became the lord of Swinnerton, and on 2 Nov 1316, he was appointed custodian of the town of Stafford. He was in the King's service abroad on 25 Feb 1321. He was made bailiff of the hundred of Tatmanslwow, 10 Apr 1321, Keeper of the Tower of London, 30 Aug 1321, and on 16 Nov 1321, he was made Keeper of the castle and manor of Eccleshall. He served in 1335 and 1337 against the Scots, and in 1333, after the battle of Haidon Hill, he was granted a general pardon. He was summoned to Parliament by a write in which he is styled Rogero de Swynn'ton' on 20 Dec !337. He married Maud, and died on or before 3 Mar 1338.
