Antonio de Ortega, most likely the eldest son of Gerónimo de Ortega, first married Rosa Baca, daughter of Antonio Baca. They had four children during twenty-nine years of married life, mentioned in his last will in 1785: Domingo, Alejandro, Petrona, and Catalina. Alejandro was the only one living.

Antonio next married María Antonia Romero. During seventeen years of marriage they had two boys and a girl: José, María, and Francisco.

Antonio de Ortega son of Gerónimo and Sevastiana Gonzales, native of this villa of Santa Fe, occupation farmer, height 5'5" tall, age 26 years, Catholic, black hair and eyebrows, beardless, rosy skin, handsome face. He fills the position for an unlimited time in this royal presidio of the villa of Santa Fe on 14 May 1741, in place of Juan Marques.

He was promoted to Corporal on 6-f Oct- 1769. He was authorized to retire on 1 July 1779. On the 2 Nov 1785 he died of natural causes.

Antonio Ortega mentions in his second will of 1785 that he was a retired Corporal of the royal garrison of Santa Fé. He acknowledges that he was married to Rosa Baca for twenty-nine years and that they had four children: Domingo, Alejandro, Petrona and Catharina, all deceased with the exception of Alejandro. (Petrona appears to alive in his first will.) He also acknowledges that his second wife was María Antonia Romero, with whom he had been married for seventeen years, and that their children were José María and José Francisco. Antonio mentions his son-in-law, Juan Domínguez .
