Maria Clara Lorenza Silva, espanola, 17, was the legitimate daughter of Ventura Silva and Maria Rita Torres, citizens of Sabinal. The couple was related in the closed fourth degree of consanguinity. Maria's parents were poor and she was looking to Francisco for protection.
