Mariano Sánchez, 47, español, widowed of Juana Chaves, was a citizen of the Belén area. María del Carmen Padilla, 23, the widow of Antonio José García, español, was a citizen of Isleta area. When Father Álvarez questioned Mariano, he stated that he and María del Carmen were related in the third degree of consanguinity. He was related to everyone in the area, and María del Carmen was a poor widow with two infants in need of support her poor father could not provide. Witnesses: Pedro Padilla, 80 and Francisco Chaves, both citizens of the Belén jurisdiction.

Father Álvarez forwared the proceedings to Father José Ygnacio Sánchez in Isleta. On 28 Nov 1807, Father Sánchez questioned María del Carmen Padilla. She stated that most of the people in her area were her relatives. Witnesses: José Antonio Chaves, 41, citizens of Los Padillas in the Isleta Jurisdictiion, Manuel Rubí, 38, citizen of the puesto of Pajarito, in the Isleta jurisdiction.
Neither priest could find a baptismal record for either of he couple.
Father Sánchez forwarded the proceedings in Durango. In 29 Dec 1807, Vicar General Millán Rodríguez granted a dispensation.
