Infante don Ordoño is believed to be the son of rey don Fruela II. Ordoño was married to Infanta doña Cristiana, daughter of Rey don Bermudo II, who according to most accounts, was married to Queen Velasquita whose parents were don Ordño el Mal, rey de Oviedo y León and his wife, doña Urraca González, daughter of conde de Castilla, Fernán González. The Bishop of Ovideo, don Pelayo, affirmed that the motherof Infanta doña Cristina, although named Velazquita, was the daughter of Mantelo and Velalla, with whom the Bermundo had an illicit relationship with. The son of don Ordoño and Cristiana (alive in 1037) was:

Don Rodrígo Alonso, señor de Nava who married doña Gonia ú Onia, and they were the parents of:
Diego Ruiz de Asturias, Earl of Oviedo, Lord of Noreña, Governor and Captain General of Asturias. He married Infanta doña Jimena, daughter of rey don Alonso V and his wife Elvira. The sons of this marriage were don Rodrigo Diaz, don Fruela, don Fernando, don Pedro, don Rubio, and don Bernardo.
