Pelayo Fróilaz was the son of count Fróla Jiménez. He was a member of the high Asturian and León nobility and a royal lieutnant of Alfonso V of León. Pelayo married Countess Aldonza Ordóñez daughter of Ordoño Ramíres and his wife Cristina Bermundez. Cristina Bermúdez was the daughter of Bermundo II of León and Queen Velasquita Ramírez.

Doña Aldonza Martínez de Silva was the daughter of don Martín Gómez de Silva and his wife doña Urraca Rodríguez de Cabrera. Martín Gómez de Silva was the son of Goméz Peláez de Silva, lord of Santa Olalla and his wife condesa doña Urraca Núñez. Gómez Peláez de Silva was the son of don Pelayo Gutiérrez de Silva, Adelantado mayor del Reyno de Portugal, and his wife doñ Sancha Yañnez de Montor. Pelayo Gutiérrez was the son of don Gutierre Peláez, lord of Aldret & Quinta de Silva, and his wife doña María Pérez de Ambia. Gutierre Peláez was the son of don Pelayo Peláez, señor de Zisneros, who was the son of don Pelayo Fruela and his wife doña Aldonza Ordoñez.

Don Pelayo Fruela married condessa Aldonza Muñoz, "Princela de la Sangre Real." Aldonza was the daughter of don Ordoño, the blind and his wife "el infanta doña" Christina whose parents were rey don Bermudo II de León and "reyna doña" Velasquita.
