Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands Ansegisel "The Gesta Episcoporum Mettensis names (in order) "duos filios Anschisum et Chlodolfum" as sons of Arnulf "iuventutis suć tempore ex legitimi matrimonii copula" but does not name their mother [Pauli Gesta Episcoporum Mettensis, MGH SS II, p. 264]. A 9th century genealogy names "Flodolfum et Anschisum" as the children of "domnus Arnulfus" [Genealogić Karolorum II, MGH SS XIII, p. 245]. The Vita Chrodegangi Episcopi Mettensis names "Anchisć" as second son of "Arnulfum sanctum" [Vita Chrodegangi Episcopi Mettensis; 7, MGH SS X, p. 556]." Ansegisel married Begga, daughter of Pépin I "l'Ancien" of "de Landen." "Sigebert's late 11th century Chronica records in 649 that "Ansigisus filius sancti Arnulfi" had married "Begga soror Grimoaldi" [Sigeberti Chronica 640, MGH SS VI, p. 324]."
