Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 1344 Clopton Bury manors also called Wakefield. 1480 and in 1530 [Cal. Close, 1476-85, 263-4], was held in demesne by 1166 by Thomas de Andeville [Red Bk. Exch. i. 355] whose son Hamelin (fl. 1198-1217) [Feet of Fines, 9 Ric. I (Pipe R. Soc. xxiii), pp. 115-16; Cur. Reg. R. vii. 138; Rot. Litt. Claus. (Rec. Com.), i. 329] was succeeded by Richard de Andeville, lord circa 1235 and in 1242 [Liber de Bernewelle, 246; Bk. of Fees, ii. 924]. The next lord Alexander de Andeville died between 1271 and 1274 [Rot. Hund. (Rec. Com.), i. 51]. His widow Beatrice held Clopton in dower in 1279. By 1283 their daughter Beatrice had married Robert Hoo, who was granted free warren there in 1292 [Cal. Chart. R. 1257- 1300, 421].
