Cristóbal de Cuéllar was born in Granada (Spain or New Spain?), and he was thirty-six years old when he married Juana Hurtado in Santa Fe, on February 21, 1694. His parents were Tomás de Cuéllar and Gabriela Domínguez, both living in Granada. He was residing in Bernalillo in 1696, when he testified that he was thirty-nine and forty-four years old and a native of Granada. He died on November 8, 1700, and his widow later married Tomás Garcia. He and Juana had a daughter, María de Cuéllar, who became the wife of José Montaño.

Cristóbal married Juana Hurtado de Mendoza, daughter of Diego Hurtado and Josefa de la Fuente, on 21 Feb 1694 in Santa Fé, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.²⁵² (Juana Hurtado de Mendoza was born in 1677 and died after 1750 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)
