Luis López was married to Ana María Bernal as early as 1704. She was at least a half-sister to Tomasa Martín González, wife of Bernardino de Sena, since López considered himself an uncle of Sena's son, Tomás.) María de la Concepción, to whom he had been married for thirty years. They had one daughter, Micaela Antonia. His age was given as fifty-one and fifty-seven in 1731. Ana María died on March 3, 1762, being more than eighty years old; and Luis followed, June 4, 1772, aged more than ninety-seven years.

Melchora Gonzáles had a niece, Ana Bernal, the wife of Luis López. She lived with Diego González, and a Juan González was also Ana Bernal's uncle. Juan testified in 1691 as "Juan González Bernal" that he was a native of New Mexico and twenty-three years old. In short, both Diego and Juan seem to be brothers of Antonia and Melchora.

Luis López and his brothers Juan & Carlos López are the sons of Ana Luján (50). Also mentioned are Juan de Ribera, Ana's uncle, and his wife María Garía (23). Cristobal de Gongora is given as Ana's attorney, and others mentioned in testimonies are Juan de Apodaca and daughter María Apodaca, both relatives of Luis López.

Couple resides in Santa Fe, but her petition is made at San Ildefonso, with witnesses Capt. Matias Luján and Capt. Critobál Arellano. Her husband promises to to live with her as man and wife, but in their own home apart from both their relatives. Governor Vargas orders Juan Paez Hurtado to effect the reunion. Mentions of Ignacio de Roybal as Capt. and Justicia Mayor of Tiguexs of San Ildefonso. If the couple continues to squabble, Luis López will get 10 years service in the Philippines, and Ana Bernal to be jailed until she can be sent to Santa Monica de la Puebla.
