• Diligencia Matrimonial. 248 29 Aug 1709, Santa Cruz, Juan Márquez, son of Francisco Márquez and Estrela Lujan, and Josefa Apodaca, daughter of Francisco Apodaca, both already married, but impediment of the second degree relationship had arisen. Witnesses: Miguel de Quintana, notary; Cristóbal Tafoya (32), who says that while in Sonora he had met Josá López, who told him that the groom was the son of Francisco Márque, the latter recognizing him as such; Tafoya also states that the is not the child of Francisco Apodaca; Matias Madrid (30), says that he had heard that the groom was the son of José López; Andrés Gonzales (58), states that the groom is "the picture" of José López; Roque Madrid (64) and Juan de Atienza (40). The DM is incomplete, but the gist of it is that the above statements are pur gossip.
