Nicolás Ruíz de Aguilar

Nicolás Ruiz de Aguilar and Mariana de los Ángeles Guerroero had been married in Mexico City in 1652. Information ha is recorded in their banns of matrimony were recorded in Catedral de México, 20 Jan 1652. The infomaion says that Nicolás was a native of the Villa of Atrisco in New Spain, yet he had lived in Mexico City since he was a child. Nicolás was the son of Pedro Ruiz Córdova and Gerónima de Aguilar. His wife Mariana was a native of Minas de Jasco, and like her husband, had lived in Mexico City since she was a child. Mariana was the daughter of Agustin Guerrero and Anna Núñez.

Nicolás Moreno de Trujillo and María Ruiz de Aguilar lived in Mexico City where they had at least eight children. Five of these children have babtismal records that can be found in he Catedral de México. hese children were:
• Estafánia de Trujillo, bapized 22 Jul 1673, married to José de Atienza Sevillano
• Gertrudis de la Santa Trinidad de Trujillo, baptized 23 Jul 1675, married to Miguel de Quintana
• María de Guadalupe de Trujillo, baptized 15 Sep 1678
• Micaela de Antonio de Trujillo, baptized 1 Jan 1681
• Juana Teresa de Trujillo, born circa 1685/6,
• Damián de Trujillo, born circa 1686
• José Joaquín Trujillo, baptized 31 Mar 1687
• Micaela Antonia de Trujillo, baptized 23 May 1690

The family joined as coloniss to help resettle New Mexico. Two of their eldest daughter also were married to husband who intended o setle in New Mexico. On 7 Jul 1693, Estefánia de Trujillo was married in Santa Catalina Martir Church to José de Atienza Sevillano, native of Mexico City, and a son of José Atienza Alcalá y Escobar and Gertrudis de Sevillano Mancilla. The other daughter, Getrudis de la Santa Trinidad de Trujillo married Miguel de Quintana. There are no records for their marriage, but they were enumerated as separate families on the muster roll of colonists.

Nicolás and María asked for permission to return to Mexico City. Their two married daughters stayed as well as another younger daughter. Juana Teresa de Trujillo sought to marry Sebastián Luján, a native of New Mexico. Their prenuptial investigation is dated 10 Feb 1705, which give the names of Sebastiáns parens as Diego Luján and Juana de Salazar. Despite Nicolás Moreno de Trujillo's objection to this marriage, the couple were married 24 Feb 1705 in Santa Fe.

Nicolas and the rest of his family most likely returned to Mexico City, leaving three daughters behind whose descendants were part of the colonists in New Mexico who began their lives in New Mexico because of the resettlement of New Mexico with Don Diego de Vargas.

Nicolás married Mariana de los Ángeles Guerrero, daughter of Agustín Guerrero and Anna Nuñez, on 5 Feb 1652 in Catedrral de Méjico, Ciiudad de Méjico, Nueva Españna.²⁴⁷ (Mariana de los Ángeles Guerrero was born about 1610 in Minas de Jasco.)
