• Background Information: Nathaniel Walker.
Based on DNA, Joseph Walker descends from Captain Samuel Walker rather than immigrant Robert Walker, father of Reverand Zachariah Walker, as much of the literature and histories of New England have passed on to us.

From the information given on Eugene Allen Walker's web site Descendants of Capt. Samuel Walker I tried to connect my own Joseph Walker, of Connecticut, to Captain Samuel. Of the descents of Samuel Walker, Nathaniel Walker , son Israel , son of Samuel , ended up in Union, Tolland, Connecticut. He married first to Rebecca Simond, daughter of Benjamin Simonds and Rebecca Heywood, born 1697 in Woburn, Massachusetts. She died in Wobrun at the age of 25. They had two children, Nathaniel Walker & Benjamin Walker.

Nathaniel Walker married a second time to Jemima Ward, daughter of William and Judith Ward. She was born on 5 July 1693 in Malborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Their children were Obadia, Rebecca, Israel, Abigail, Hezekial, Edward Walker, Hannah and Susannah.

Based on my conversations with other descendants of Joseph Walker, Joseph was the son of Edward Walker. The basis of this DNA testing of the male descendants (Riley Walker descending from Joseph's son Amos Walker) who have the DNA group 12b1 (M23*). According to Eugene Walker, the lineage comes from Northern France 14,000 to 18,000 years ago with the Viking/Scandianvian settlements of Normandy.

• He was born. 1145
From page 177 of Ashford Connecticut part of Connecticut: Vital Records (The Barbour Collection), 1630-1870:

Edward Walker, son of Nathaniel and Jermima, born 23 Sep 1725.

Edward married Mary Patten, daughter of Nathaniel Patten and Unknown, on 5 Mar 1751 in Brimfield, Hampden, Massachusetts.
