A John de Huddleston, reprsenting a younger line, acquired Millon, Cumberland by his marriage, circa 1230/32 to Joan, Daughter of Adam de Boiville alias Millum; her died circa 1252, [Yorks Fines Fasti, i, no. 27] and was the ancestor of the Huddlestones of Millom. With the consent of Joan his wie he confimred a gift to Holm Caltram Abbey. [Cumb. and West. Ant. and Arc. Soc., Transactions, Vol. xli, N.S., pp. 27-8]

Sir John Hudleston1 knight, at the time of his married with Joan1, was lord of Anneys in Millum. In the 20th year of Edward I, before Hugh Cressingham justice itinerant, it was proved that he had jura regalia with the seigniory of Millum, and his plea therein was allowed. He was followed by his son, John2, who died unmarried.
Sir Richard Hudleston2, Knight, followed. He married Alice, daughter of Richard Troughton in 13 Ed. II and had issue Sir John Hudleston3.
